  • Swim Parallel to the Shore: If you can, swim parallel to the shore until you are out of the current, then swim back to shore at an angle.

  • Swim Near Lifeguards: If possible, choose beaches with lifeguards on duty and swim in designated areas.

While the stings are rarely deadly, they can cause pain and welts on exposed skin. Warm water is recommended for pain relief.
