Notes

The Peninsula community is surrounded by the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge is comprised of 7000 acres of wildlife habitat and comprises one of the largest undeveloped parcels of land on the Alabama coast.  The environment is a reminder of the Gulf Coast as it once existed.  The Refuge has been named as one of the 10 natural wonders of Alabama. Our community and adjacent Wildlife Refuge are home to bald eagles, blue heron, sea turtles, alligators, osprey, and many other species of wildlife
